Actor-turned-chef Jeong Shin-woo (real name Jung Dae-yeol) has died. He was 58.
On the 18th, according to a media report, the late chef Jeong Shin-woo died in the early morning of that day.
The late Jeong Shin-woo debuted in 1988 in the musical "Gospel" and made his full debut in 1994 in the SBS drama "Park Bong-suk lawyer" as a one-act drama.
In 1998, he was selected as an MBC 27th public recruitment talent and appeared in dramas such as "Roses and bean sprouts", "Best Theater", and "Sangdo".
Then in 2000 he completed the full styling and table setting course at c.f.c.i Joeunjeong food space laboratory. He also completed short cooking courses in Italy and France. He later transferred to the culinary and hospitality department at Sejong University, completed the program, and graduated.
Afterwards he was active on cooking programs such as EBS "The best cooking secret", the food channel "Jeong Shin-woo's cooking workshop", and KBS live "Jeong Shin-woo's kokkok recipe."
The late Jeong Shin-woo was diagnosed with thymic cancer in 2014 and shared his battle diary on his blog until recently. His most recent post was on Oct. 29 last year, in which he wrote, "Everything is different from ordinary people. If just one thing goes wrong, the body collapses and hurts in turn. So there is little joy in living," drawing sorrow.
The late Jeong Shin-woo did not have a separate mourning hall, and a funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on the 19th at Gangnam St. Mary's Hospital funeral chapel.
