Broadcaster Yu Jae-seok's reason for insisting on paying for the Punggyeonggo 2 plane tickets out of his own pocket has become a hot topic.
On the 17th, a video titled "Punggyeonggo 2 pre-meeting is an excuse" was posted on the YouTube channel DdeunDdeun.
On that day, Yu Jae-seok, Jee Seokjin, Yang Se-chan and Lee Sung-min decided to go to countries or regions none of the four had visited before as destinations for Punggyeonggo 2, and mentioned Helsinki, Finland; Vienna, Austria; Budapest, Hungary; and Prague, Czech Republic as candidates.
Afterwards, the four people spoke directly with the travel agency director and excluded Finland, which has no flag carrier because of the subsequent schedule, and arranged an itinerary departing from Vienna, Austria and arriving in Budapest, Hungary. At that time the director asked, "Will you take economy or business?" and Yu Jae-seok asked, "How much is it?" The director said, "Business is 6.3 million won per person, and economy is 1.1 million won."
Hearing this, Lee Sung-min and Jee Seokjin recommended business, saying, "If you take economy your back will hurt to death. For 13 hours," and Yang Se-chan shook his head, saying, "Are you saying we should spend 25 million won before we even start?" Yu Jae-seok asked, as he did for Sapa, Vietnam, whether they could take economy going and business returning, and the director explained, "360만 원 per person."
After ending the call, Jee Seokjin asked, "But are we the ones paying for these plane tickets?" and Yu Jae-seok answered directly, "If not us, who will pay?" Jee Seokjin confessed his burden, saying, "Season 1 did well.."
Yang Se-chan agreed, saying, "Vietnam was a price that could make you laugh, but this one makes you laugh less," and Yu Jae-seok suggested, "Anyway, if we go, let's go business both ways. Because as soon as we land we have to keep shooting, so although it's expensive isn't it something each of us can invest in?"
The four agreed to pay for business-class seats out of their own pockets, and the production team suggested, "We think there will be PPL for the plane tickets, so we'll pay with production funds." Yu Jae-seok expressed concern, saying, "That seems like too much," and Lee Sung-min also shouted to the cast, "Don't do that" and "That's about right."
In particular, Yu Jae-seok said his belief, "Because it's more comfortable for us if it comes out of our own money. If it comes from production funds it's a little awkward for us too," and Lee Sung-min added, "Right, that's how you can boast a bit."
