The home and daily life of Formula 3 (F3) driver Shin Woo-hyun, who is known as the nephew of Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun, were revealed through a broadcast.
On the 17th episode of MBC's Omniscient Interfering View, Shin Woo-hyun's life in Korea, where he is active on the country's only FIA Formula 3 stage, was portrayed. The broadcast drew attention to his lifestyle patterns, which are strictly tailored to racing, distinct from his background as a member of the pro-Hyundai family.
Shin Woo-hyun started his day at his home in Korea. An unpacked suitcase sat in the house, and he explained, "During the season I can hardly come to Korea," adding, "I stay only briefly in the off-season." He also revealed, "I fly a lot. This year alone I've taken about 120 flights," surprising the cast.
Having returned from France, Shin Woo-hyun filmed just 13 hours after arriving home and immediately began body maintenance. Right after waking he weighed himself, moved to the private training room in the house and continued training while wearing his helmet. Seeing this, Yang Se-hyung marveled at the size of the training room, saying, "There's a stairway from hell in the house."
Meals were also strict. Shin Woo-hyun ate separately from his mother, Ms. Jeong Yoon-yi, keeping separate diets. He showed himself checking calories and the weight of food one by one, saying, "If I gain just 1 kg, it can make a 1- to 2-second difference at the end of a race." After eating, he moved to a room full of racing equipment and focused on race analysis while watching onboard footage and data.
Meanwhile, Shin Woo-hyun was born in 2004 and is a driver from the Hyundai family lineage known as the nephew of Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun. His mother, Ms. Jeong Yoon-yi, is reported to be the chairman's third older sister and the third daughter of honorary chairman Chung Mong-koo. Although he comes from a family that draws business attention, Shin Woo-hyun is challenging the F3 stage with the determination to prove himself on the track with results rather than by his family name in the world of formula racing, which involves enormous expenses and risks.<
