'Hangout With Yoo' Yu Jae-seok was accused of pocketing 7,000 won from the 'Comma, Club' petty cash, but ultimately satisfied the members and wrapped up the second meetup.
The MBC variety show 'Hangout With Yoo,' which aired on the 17th, was presented as the 'Comma, Club' winter meetup episode. Club president Yu Jae-seok took members Jung jun-ha, Haha, Heo Kyunghwan and Joo Woo-jae on a winter outing where, for 50,000 won, they could enjoy food, shopping and activities all to the fullest.
The metropolitan household rating for that broadcast was 4.7%, again ranking first among Saturday variety shows. The 20-54 rating, a core channel competitiveness indicator reflecting changes in media consumption environments, was 3.0%, also ranking first among Saturday variety shows. The peak one minute was the members of the 'Comma, Club' saying a cool farewell after finishing a bowl of udon, with a peak minute rating rising to 5.5%.
The 'Comma, Club' members, reunited since last fall, began the meetup by changing each other's nicknames. Yu Jae-seok became 'Pye-organ,' Haha became 'Aged Seokbakji,' Joo Woo-jae became 'Lee Yoon-seok,' and Heo Kyunghwan became 'Perspiration.' New member Jung jun-ha stirred the scene with a look completely different from his nickname, saying, "I'm Riverside. I'm Byeon Woo-seok of Gangnam Station." Seeing his extraordinary head size, Yu Jae-seok jokingly asked, "How's the noggin?" which drew laughs.
Among them, Heo Kyunghwan, burdened by the need to be funny, grew nervous each time it was his turn to talk and showed beads of sweat on his philtrum. When asked, "Which school did you go to?" members replied with ad-libs like "one minute one second" and "Kim Sang-joong," and Heo Kyunghwan retorted, "Ha'go' issneun'dae', this isn't the taste," in return. When asked, "What do you learn there?" Heo Kyunghwan escaped the crisis by plastering on his catchphrase, "Ija~ppusseoyo (I forgot)," and Yu Jae-seok failed to hold back his laughter.
As members set out on the proper winter outing, they remained suspicious that Yu Jae-seok might collect the 50,000 won membership fee and only take them to free courses. Yu Jae-seok filled the members' stomachs with winter snack carp-shaped breads and then took them to a shopping center.
While everyone was satisfied, Joo Woo-jae nitpicked and clashed with Yu Jae-seok. When Yu Jae-seok emphasized, "The carp bread was packed with red bean from head to toe," Joo Woo-jae corrected him, "Not the feet, the tail," which upset Yu Jae-seok. At the shopping center he stubbornly grumbled for an accounting of the money he hadn't used. Peacekeeper Heo Kyunghwan pulled a "portable reconciliation" from his variety bag to stop their fight, but the reaction was cold. Hurt, Heo Kyunghwan burst out, "I carried this heavy bag around for this one thing! You won't accept this?"
In the chilly atmosphere after the fight, they arrived at a free snow sledding slope where they could enjoy winter activities. Joo Woo-jae, who had been indifferent to the free sleds, was thrilled, and the members soon reconciled.
However, during an interim accounting, the atmosphere froze again when an allegation surfaced that Yu Jae-seok embezzled club funds. At the shopping center, it was revealed that Yu Jae-seok had spent 27,000 won, not 20,000 won, and had secretly pocketed the difference from the members. Joo Woo-jae, who had been scolded all along, became triumphant, and a flustered Yu Jae-seok explained, "I kept petty cash and personal money together in my wallet so I didn't know. I meant to tell you but I forgot." Haha fanned the debate over his qualification as president, saying, "I can't trust you," and while listening to the gossip, Yu Jae-seok subdued Haha with physical therapy, drawing laughs. In the end, past "treasurer" Jung jun-ha replaced him as treasurer, and the incident was settled for the time being.
For the final course, the members ate hot udon and a bowl of jajangmyeon at a restaurant boasting the best value in the era of high inflation. The members devoured the food with satisfaction, and Yu Jae-seok coolly said farewell, noting that returning home was on their own. Interest centered on whether the 'Comma, Club' members, who had repeated fights and reconciliations, would meet again for a third meetup.
Meanwhile, the preview for the next broadcast heightened anticipation by showing members going to Jeju to meet Choi Hong-man and granting his wish. 'Hangout With Yoo' airs every Saturday at 6:30 p.m..
