Comedian Cho Sae-ho drew attention by sharing an update looking gaunt.
In episode 11 of the Netflix variety show Screwballs season 3: Screwballs disbandment show, which will be released on the 18th, members appear in different concept makeups to match the dress code "winter." On that day, in celebration of Kim Sook's disbandment show, "New Sookmakase" unfolds with the concept of "Korea's No. 1 premium winter camping," and the members' exaggerated makeup and setups are expected to draw laughs.
Among them, Cho Sae-ho appears with Hong Jin Kyung in the "two-person thief" concept targeting empty houses. However, in the released still cuts, Cho Sae-ho's face looks gaunter than before, giving a somewhat emaciated impression that draws attention. Contrary to the comic setup, his thin frame and pale expression combine to naturally draw viewers' eyes.
In particular, in this episode Woo Young, who missed the previous broadcast due to acute enteritis, returns and appears in the "McCawley Woo Young" concept, and Joo Woo Jae transforms into "Reporter Joo Daegi," delivering a snowy scene and adding laughs by offering an empty rice bowl while covered in snow. Even amid the members' exaggerated setups, Cho Sae-ho's relatively thin appearance stands out as a striking image.
Cho Sae-ho once again found himself at the center of controversy after recent news of his return to broadcasting and additional remarks from the accuser regarding past allegations of ties to organized crime. He had previously announced a suspension of activities by voluntarily withdrawing from all broadcasts, and with news that he would join the new season of Screwballs, speculation arose that he might be preparing a comeback. Afterward, when the accuser again said "the timing of the comeback is suspicious," the controversy reignited.
Cho Sae-ho's side drew a line at the time, saying "he is just an acquaintance met at a local event and is unrelated to organized crime," and said it would take legal action against false claims. However, the accuser has continued to post additional photos and remarks recently, prolonging the dispute.
Meanwhile, Cho Sae-ho's condition shown on the variety program is drawing more attention because it is his first official screen appearance since the controversy. Although the scenes include makeup and concepts, the emaciated impression compared with before has led to various interpretations.
Meanwhile, episode 11 of Screwballs season 3: Screwballs disbandment show will be released on Netflix at 5 p.m. on the 18th.
