Kim Tae-hoon recalled, "Originally I was accepted into the trade department at Hongik University, but I was additionally accepted into the theater and film department at Hanyang University," and said, "My brother, hearing that while he was asleep, told me, 'Let's go to Hanyang together,' and helped me enroll." He continued, "From then on I loved theater so much that I kept performing on stage," revealing that his brother's influence was the decisive factor that led him to become an actor.
He was candid about evaluations of the brothers' acting as well. Kim Tae-hoon said, "Some say we look like twins, and some say we are completely different," and added, "Each of us is carving out our own path in acting." He also expressed new acting ambitions, saying, "I've played many villains, but I actually want to try a fool-like role too. I think that kind of part could be done on set with ad-libs even without script readings."
