The troubadour of the music industry, Choi Baek-ho, confessed that he had been battling an illness.
On the 17th broadcast of MBN 'Kim Ju-ha's Day & Night', Choi Baek-ho, marking his 50th year since debut, appeared and spoke about his life and music.
That day Choi Baek-ho, when asked about his health, opened by saying, "There was a period when my health was not very good." He said, "A troublesome disease was found during a health checkup and I received treatment, and during that process I lost about 15kg," and added, "I was originally 70kg but now I'm about 55kg."
He continued, "An inflammation called nontuberculous mycobacteria developed in my lungs," and explained, "It has symptoms similar to tuberculosis but it is a disease that does not cause infection." He said, "Because it does not cause infection, treatments have not been well developed, so treatment took a long time and the medicine was quite strong," and confessed, "When I took the medicine I was groggy all day and my weight kept dropping."
Choi Baek-ho said he continued treatment for about a year and has now been declared fully recovered. However, he added, "It has been about 10 months since I stopped taking the medicine, but my weight has not fully recovered yet."
Even in the somewhat heavy atmosphere, he did not lose his characteristic humor. "If anyone wants to go on a diet, I can introduce that medicine," he joked, bringing laughter to the studio.
