'Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant' Son Tae Jin confessed a heartbreaking family story.
On the 16th episode of KBS 2TV entertainment program 'Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant' (hereinafter 'Fun-Staurant'), singer Son Tae Jin appeared as a new guest chef.
That day Son Tae Jin's mother, while cooking with her son, revealed, "Because I'm worried about you, when I tell your father at night do you know what he says? 'I'm just grateful that Tae Jin is alive,'" drawing attention.
There was a heartbreaking story in Son Tae Jin's family. His mother confessed, "Between Tae Jin and my eldest child Tae Min, I gave birth to a daughter. The child left us on the third day after birth, and the child who was born was Tae Jin."
She continued, "When Tae Jin was born his condition was more dangerous than the second child. They say that when children are born their lung function must open so they can breathe. He was healthy in the womb, but after birth the child could not breathe well," she recalled.
Son Tae Jin's mother confessed, "In fact, the doctor said there was a 50% chance of life or death. It was a dangerous and difficult time. Having lost the second child in the same way, I thought a lot about what would happen if this child did the same."
After watching the video, Son Tae Jin said, "During the two weeks in the incubator my father did not leave my side and watched from a distance. He raised me with that much care," expressing gratitude to his parents.
Meanwhile, Son Tae Jin's mother revealed an unusual educational method that sent him to Seoul National University for vocal music. His mother explained, "English is important, but because I wanted him to learn Chinese I sent him to a Chinese school. Also, although he should be good at English and Chinese, I thought he should also be good at Korean, so I sent him to a Korean school."
Above all, the reason Son Tae Jin started music was greatly influenced by his wise mother. She proudly said, "At the American school, during music class they select a singers group that leads on stage the children who are a little outstanding, and Tae Jin entered the singers. When he graduated high school he sang the U.S. national anthem a cappella by himself."
She continued, "He sang in front of many people and I felt that Tae Jin was enjoying it there. Thinking that music would suit him, we decided to give up the French university and study in Korea. He came with me and was admitted to Seoul National University's vocal music department," she said. To this Son Tae Jin added, "My life changed."
