KBS2's new weekend drama Recipe For Love, which is scheduled to premiere at 8 p.m. on the 31st (written by Park Ji-suk, directed by Han Jun-seo, produced by HB Entertainment), is a family makeup drama in which two households that had been entangled in a bad relationship for 30 years resolve their misunderstandings, heal each other's wounds and are reborn as one family.
Recipe For Love revealed a family still of the Yangs that captures the unique sweet-and-salty charm of the Yang household on the 16th, releasing stills that grabbed prospective viewers' attention.
First, So E-hyun plays Yang Hyun-bin, the eldest grandson of the Yang family. He left to study abroad because of resentment toward a patriarchal grandfather and a father who was poor at expressing emotions. Now returned to take the position of chief director of the fashion business division, anticipation is growing over how he will unravel his complex feelings toward his family.
Kim Hyung-mook and Park Ki Woong play the Yang family's eldest son Yang Dong-ik and daughter-in-law Cha Se-ri, respectively, showing a marital chemistry that swings between love and ambition. In particular, this couple will intensify the drama's immersion by portraying a dense love-hate relationship with their child.
Joo Jin-mo plays Yang Seon-chul, the elder of the Yang family, emitting a weighty presence. He has lived his life clinging to stubbornness and authority, but he is a character who buries guilt about his family beneath that. Especially in his tsundere affection for daughter-in-law Cha Se-ri, curiosity is piqued about what changes he will face.
Meanwhile, Jo Mi-ryung brings vitality to the drama as Yang Dong-sook, the Yang family's eldest daughter, a woman who lives with a single-minded determination to make her son Min-ji (Cho Yi-hyun) a traditional Korean medicine doctor. In addition, Yoon Seo-a plays Yang Eun-bin, the Yang family's youngest granddaughter, and with her bubbly charm of doing whatever she wants, she is expected to deliver pleasant energy to living room audiences.
