BTS's new release, coming out for the first time in 3 years and 9 months, is titled "Arirang (ARIRANG)."
BTS revealed the title of their fifth studio album, which will be released on March 20, at 12 a.m. on the global superfans platform Weverse on the 16th. The new album, which includes a total of 14 tracks, draws attention by using "Arirang," a representative Korean folk song, as its title.
"Arirang" is a title that encompasses BTS's identity and the emotions they want to share with music fans. As they prepare for their long-awaited comeback, they naturally focused on the group's roots, starting point and inner stories. They aimed to infuse their identity as a group that started in Korea and the deep longing and love that occupy their hearts into their music. "Arirang" symbolically represents BTS's identity and the sentiment of the new release.
Since their debut, BTS has consistently delivered sincere music that reflects the members' experiences and thoughts. That sincerity formed a bond of empathy with many people and became the power behind BTS's songs. In particular, the new album deals with universal emotions of longing and deep love, and is expected to resonate broadly with people around the world.
Meanwhile, BTS will begin a new world tour starting with a performance at Goyang Sports Complex on April 9. The tour will take place across 34 cities worldwide for a total of 79 shows, the most dates in K-pop history. With concerts in Japan and the Middle East to be added, the tour is expected to grow even larger. They will be the first Korean artists to perform in many stadiums including El Paso, Foxborough, Arlington and Baltimore in the United States. They also plan to attempt a 360-degree stage production to maximize immersion at the venues.<
