On the 15th broadcast of MBC's entertainment show Save Me! Holmes (shortened to Holmes), Ahn Jae-hyeon, alongside former announcer and broadcaster Kim Dae-ho and former national judo athlete Lee Seong-ho, who appeared on I'm SOLO as Young-chul, searched for dwellings suitable for a single man in his 30s.
The first dwelling was the home of a designer who had set up a jeonse lease on the top floor of an old house worth in the 100 million won range. The resident's interior, reflecting their sensibility and taste from hobbies like terrariums to furniture design, impressed viewers.
However, Holmes member Jang Dong-min reacted differently. He said, "Reality hasn't hit me yet. When I was single I did all kinds of things to the house. But as soon as I got married it became, 'Do whatever you want,' for my wife." When other members asked, "Even so, is there something you can't give up?" Jang Dong-min laughed and said, "I couldn't give up games so I left the game console in the living room, but I never got to play it."
At that moment Yang Se-hyung jokily said, "Bro, come back anytime," adding to the laughter. Even as everyone laughed, Ahn Jae-hyeon was blunt. He said, "No. You don't need to come back (after getting married)," causing uproarious laughter. In reality, Ahn Jae-hyeon had married actress Koo Hye-sun in the past but divorced amid controversy in 2020. Faced with comments that seemed to acknowledge his divorce, Ahn Jae-hyeon playfully dodged by saying, "Why, why, you have to settle down," adding to the amusement.
Meanwhile, on that day Holmes, the client 'Young-chul' picked a luxury home located in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong District, Seoul, as his dream house. It was a high-end apartment famous for its Han River view. With a limited budget he had to look into small-size monthly rents rather than purchases. This place had a gross floor area of 16 pyeong and a net area of 11 pyeong, with a deposit of 300 million won and a monthly rent reaching 4.5 million won. Including maintenance fees, the monthly rent alone came to 5 million won.
Supporting the dream, Ahn Jae-hyeon emphasized that if retirement planning were complete he might be able to live there briefly like a trip, and said, "When I was having a hard time before, I parked the car and looked at this place thinking, 'Will I ever be able to buy that?' I thought, 'Can I enjoy single life in my 50s in a place like that?"' Holmes MC Kim Sook asked, "Why are you thinking about single life in your 50s?" and Ahn Jae-hyeon replied, "I think that's comfortable for me," provoking quiet laughter.
However, Kim Dae-ho sharply criticized Young-chul and Ahn Jae-hyeon, saying, "That's crazy," and "Pull yourself together, live in reality." Kim Sook also sternly advised, "Young-chul, you said the judo gym opened one month ago, right? Then you should sleep at the judo gym. Where are you trying to realize that dream?" Kim Dae-ho added, "Right. The real dream is enduring the smell of the players' sweat and sleeping on the mat in the judo gym after the students leave — that's the true hardship-turning-into-success dream."
