Danielle, who was expelled from the group NewJeans, revealed her affection for the members in a letter to fans, and attention has turned to the fact that the letter was written on the same day the members announced they would return to ADOR.
On the 16th, Danielle posted a message titled "a letter I couldn't deliver" on her personal SNS and released a letter written in Korean and English.
He said, "the reason I am writing this letter is because I want to hold deep in my heart the new chapter and new beginning that we will all迎come together to迎," adding, "it won't be easy to let go of the time we've been through, but now I want to put the past down for a while and focus on the things that are truly precious—our hearts, dreams, and the warm days we will迎迎迎迎迎迎迎迎迎".
He went on, "as I write this my eyes are wet, and a corner of my heart is filled with love and gratitude. Thank you so much for waiting, supporting, and wrapping me warmly all this time," adding, "perhaps many Bunnies are confused or curious right now. I can't say everything now, but one thing I can say for sure is that the place my heart is heading has not changed."
In particular, Danielle did not omit mentions of the NewJeans members. He said, "Min-ji, Hanni, Hyerin, and Hye-in are my second family. Although our timing to act together was off, nothing can separate us. That precious bond is a one-of-a-kind special connection in the world that can never be taken for granted."
He also said, "there will be difficulties ahead, but we will protect each other as we go. That is the most important thing to me. There will be anxious and fearful moments, but I will try to find good things even within them—not only for myself but for everyone I love. Because difficult moments are not 'impossible' but simply moments that need a little more time. I will continue to pursue my dreams and do things that allow me to truly feel happiness."
What draws more interest to Danielle's letter is the date written at the end of the letter. The date listed in the letter, Nov. 12, 2025, is the day the members announced their intention to return to ADOR. On that day ADOR announced the return of NewJeans members Haerin and Hye-in, saying, "after careful consideration with their families and sufficient discussion with ADOR, the two members decided to respect the court's ruling and comply with their exclusive contracts."
Three hours after that position was conveyed, Min-ji, Hanni and Danielle also announced their intention to return without consulting ADOR, saying, "Recently we made the decision to return to ADOR after careful discussions. One member is currently in Antarctica, so the delivery was delayed, and because we did not receive a reply from ADOR, we inevitably announced our position separately. We will continue to meet you with music and performances delivered sincerely."
However, the fact that Danielle wrote such a letter that day already indicates there was no intention of returning. Netizens are criticizing that she is appealing to emotions following a live broadcast and questioning why she is releasing this letter now, two months later.
Earlier, Danielle was notified in December last year by ADOR of the termination of her exclusive contract. ADOR said, "we determined that it was difficult for her to continue as a NewJeans member and an artist under ADOR and notified her of the termination of the exclusive contract."
It added that "there were acts that violated the exclusive contract, such as entering into contracts that conflicted with the exclusive contract, engaging in independent entertainment activities, or damaging the honor or credibility of the company and NewJeans. We demanded correction, but as it was not made within the deadline, we notified her of the termination," it explained.
Afterward, ADOR filed a damages lawsuit seeking about 43.1 billion won against Danielle, one of Danielle's family members, and former representative Min Hee-jin. Danielle immediately appointed legal counsel, submitted a power of attorney to the court, and moved to confront the case head-on.
