The group TWS (TWS) rose to the top ranks of Oricon Japan's annual "rookie ranking."
On the 16th, according to PLEDIS Entertainment Co., TWS (Shin Yu, Dohun, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihun, Gyeongmin) ranked second in the artist sales category "rookie ranking" of the recently announced "Oricon annual ranking 2025." This is the highest rank among overseas artists.
The "rookie ranking" tallies sales amounts of singles and albums, streaming, music DVDs and other items to determine the ranking. Oricon said TWS recorded approximately 1,070,000,000 yen (about 10 billion won) in sales during the tallying period (Dec. 9, 2024–Dec. 7, 2025).
TWS released its Japanese debut single "Nice to see you again (original title はじめまして/하지메마시테)" last July and successfully established itself in the local market. The debut single swept first place on several weekly charts of Oricon and Billboard Japan in its first week of release. The single also surpassed cumulative shipments of 250,000 copies and received platinum certification for a gold disc from the Recording Industry Association of Japan.
The group's first tour held immediately after their Japanese debut, "2025 TWS TOUR '24/7:WITH:US' IN JAPAN," drew about 50,000 attendees over 13 performances in six cities. Tickets sold out in most cities, and even restricted-view seats were additionally opened, showcasing enthusiastic ticket demand.
TWS also captivated audiences by appearing at major local festivals. They delivered powerful performances at the large music festival "Rock in Japan Festival 2025 (ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2025)," "Countdown Japan 25/26 (COUNTDOWN JAPAN 25/26)," and Fuji TV's year-end special program "2025 FNS Music Festival."
Meanwhile, the momentum TWS built in Japan is spreading globally. According to YouTube Music on the 15th, TWS surpassed 100 million monthly viewers. That figure places them among the top ranks of K-pop boy groups. YouTube Music's monthly viewers refers to the number of global users who watched TWS content or listened to their music during the past 28 days.
