Group SEVENTEEN members Dokyeom and Seungkwan showcased perfect harmony on a live stage, once again proving the reputation of 'mebozeu'.
Dokyeom and Seungkwan presented the title track Blue from their mini album 1 Soyagok on Mnet's 'M Countdown,' which aired on the 15th. As the vocal challenge with various 'singing experts' had attracted attention, high expectations were placed early on the full live performance to be revealed on broadcast for the first time.
Dokyeom and Seungkwan captivated viewers' eyes and ears with sorrowful vocals full of winter sentiment. From the restrained introduction to the aching chorus and the explosive highlight section, they flawlessly handled a high-difficulty song. In keeping with the album title representing 'Serenade,' stage production that visualized a nighttime balcony also drew attention.
In interviews held before the official stage, they also showed aspects of a 'live-type artist.' Dokyeom and Seungkwan improvised and sang their solo songs Rockstar (DK Solo) and Dream Serenade (SEUNGKWAN Solo), respectively, a cappella, drawing admiration.
Thanks to live content such as music shows and the vocal challenge, Blue is gradually spreading by word of mouth. The song topped Bugs' real-time chart on the day of release and then landed at No. 2 on Korea YouTube's 'Trending music.' The music video also rose to No. 5 on the 'daily popular music videos' chart (Jan. 13). With a 'duet challenge' started where listeners harmonize with Dokyeom and Seungkwan to complete the song, interest in Blue is expected to heat up further.
Dokyeom and Seungkwan will appear on KBS2's MUSIC BANK and 'The Seasons - 10CM's Ssedamssedam' on the 16th to perform the new song. On the 17th and 18th they will respectively appear on MBC's Show! Music Core and SBS's Inkigayo. Their variety show activities are also anticipated. Dokyeom will appear as a guest on the web variety show 'Buseungkwan's Bbibidibabidu,' which is set to be released on the 22nd, where he is expected to show fantastic chemistry with MC Seungkwan.
