Broadcaster Park Na-rae and her former agency JDB Entertainment showed differing views over a contract renewal, and the behind-the-scenes story has been revealed.
On the 15th, OSEN confirmed that when Park Na-rae discussed a contract renewal with JDB Entertainment last year, there were differences over the signing bonus and the direction of her activities.
Park Na-rae and JDB Entertainment are reported to have had a larger disagreement over the direction of activities than over the signing bonus. JDB Entertainment said "the difference in work-related opinions was greater than money. (Park Na-rae) initially asked for a high signing bonus, but that matter was later sufficiently negotiated."
During discussions, Park Na-rae and JDB Entertainment CEO Mr. Park had a verbal argument while talking about personal matters. Ultimately, because they could not agree on the direction of her activities, Park Na-rae put an end to her nine-year relationship with JDB Entertainment.
The issue of Park Na-rae's contract renewal resurfaced recently. Amid disclosures between Park Na-rae and her former manager, the former manager, identified as A, explained allegations of inflating his career and said that Park Na-rae and JDB Entertainment tried to keep him.
In particular, A claimed, "At the time, Park Na-rae demanded a recording to secure a weakness of JDB Entertainment CEO Mr. Park, and sent that recording to Park Na-rae and Park Na-rae's boyfriend. It is still being kept," which caused a stir.
Meanwhile, Park Na-rae's former managers filed a damage suit seeking about 100 million won in compensation from Park Na-rae, alleging workplace bullying, special injury, proxy prescriptions, and unpaid event fees during their employment. In response, Park Na-rae filed criminal complaints against her former managers for attempted extortion and embezzlement in the course of business.
