Global interest in the group BTS's world tour is heating up.
BTS will embark on a large-scale world tour covering North America, Europe, South America and Asia, beginning in Goyang, Korea, on April 9 and April 11-12. The schedule announced so far totals 79 performances in 34 cities, the largest scale in K-pop history. Major foreign media outlets have been reporting the news and raising expectations.
U.S. outlets People and USA Today reported on BTS's concert news, and CNN said, "BTS, which played a decisive role in transforming K-pop into a global cultural phenomenon, is back." Forbes said, "As one of the most extensive tours in the team's history, it will set a new standard for Korean artists' world tours." It added, "This tour, centered on stadiums, is on a scale that stands shoulder to shoulder with global artists."
Argentine daily Clarín said, "BTS's visit to Argentina is more than a concert; it is a cultural event," expressing anticipation. It also reported, "The concert, taking place at a time when the capital Buenos Aires is dyed purple with flowers, is a perfect moment to welcome them." BTS will visit Argentina for the first time on this tour.
BTS will release their fifth full-length album on March 20 ahead of the world tour. It is their first full-group new release in about 3 years and 9 months. The comeback atmosphere is being felt around the world. Outdoor advertisements using the new album logo are being displayed in New York, Tokyo, London and Paris. A promotion that began near Sejong Center for the Performing Arts by Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul has spread to major cities worldwide. The logo filling large electronic billboards is being rapidly shared on social media, attracting global attention.
BTS's fifth full-length album will include a total of 14 tracks. The seven members will blend the sincere emotions and concerns they accumulated on their journey into music to show "BTS of today."
