"Why on earth do you hike?" is a hiking variety show called "nae-bal-nae-san" that follows four involuntary hikers, who had never been interested in hiking in their lives, as they embark on their first-ever midwinter trek across snowy mountains and the events that unfold. It challenges those who have never voluntarily tried hiking before to take on Korea's harshest and most beautiful snowy mountains, which possess an irresistible charm once you fall for them. As the title suggests, it is expected to be a show that answers the question "Why on earth do you hike?" for those who ask.
The cast who decided on K-hiking consists of the four hottest trendsetters in Korea at this time: Car, the garden; DAY6's Dowoon; Lee Chae-min; and ALLDAY PROJECT's Tarzan. Car, the garden, an artist with a distinctive vocal color who drew empathy with sharp wit on Better Late Than Single; Dowoon, DAY6's "work genius" drummer, the youngest with slick charm and bouncy sociability; Lee Chae-min, an entertainment blue chip who rose to global stardom through Bon Appétit, Your Majesty and Cashero; and ALLDAY PROJECT's Tarzan, who contrasts a chic stage aura with quirky charm and boundless stamina, join together. In a new concept never seen before, their unpredictable chemistry provokes curiosity. The grueling yet willingly undertaken journey will deliver laughs aplenty and tears in a single drop, providing both fun and emotion.
"Why on earth do you hike?" draws intense anticipation as a new variety show from Na Young-seok's team, the "Midas touch of variety." Announcing the creation of a new "hiking variety" with a new cast and a fresh concept, it raises expectations again for the collaboration synergy between Na Young-seok's team and Netflix. "Why on earth do you hike?" is directed by producer Park Hyun-yong, who has created cheerful laughter through series such as Earth Arcade, Jinny's Kitchen and New Journey to the West.
