A brutal standoff between two enemy families signals a hair-trigger moment.
The new KBS 2TV weekend drama Recipe For Love (directed by Han Jun-seo, written by Park Ji-suk), set to premiere on the 31st, is a family makeup drama about two families who, after 30 years of bitter ties, resolve misunderstandings, soothe each other's wounds and ultimately are reborn as one family.
The third teaser released today (15th) opens with councilman Gong Jeong-han (Kim Seung-soo) and oriental medicine clinic owner Yang Dong-ik (Kim Hyung-mook) engaged in a tense showdown ahead of the merchant association presidency election. Added to this is the clinical psychiatrist Han Seong-mi's (Yu Ho-jeong) cold-blooded analysis, defining the relationship between the two families with four words: "criticism, contempt, defense, wall building," which heightens the tension.
In the following scenes, the two families' rampage reaches a peak. Yang Dong-ik grabs Gong Jeong-han by the collar, and Cha Se-ri (So Yi-hyun) and Han Seong-mi get into a scuffle, adding curiosity about the tumultuous saga the sworn enemies will unfold. In particular, Han Seong-mi's line "either way, it's do-or-die" foreshadows a shocking turn and piques interest.
The families' conflict spares no generation. Gong Dae-han (Choi Dae-chul) sharpening his tone at Yang Dong-sook (Jo Mi-ryung) on the street, saying "I told you not to pretend you know me," hints that their feud is deeply rooted throughout the entire clan.
Also, the clash in their medical philosophies is a key watchpoint. The stark contrast between Yang clinic's insistence on free treatment for elderly patients who delay care because they have no money, known as the "Mr. Gong family," and the Yang family's drive to build a popular, sophisticated oriental medicine brand is expected to add to the drama's appeal.
At the end of the video, Yang Dong-ik's witty line "Shall I give you one love needle, bong?" raises expectations for the drama's cheerful energy. Viewers are focused on what the prescription of love that will save the two enemy families might be.
