Singer Jang Yoon Jeong recalled her debut days and shared an amusingly painful (?) revelation.
On the 14th, a video titled "Anyone know what song she says she's singing for her debut song? | choreography practice of a singer with 27 years of experience" was uploaded to Jang Yoon Jeong's YouTube channel "Jang Gongjang Jang Yoon Jeong."
In the released video, Jang Yoon Jeong revealed scenes of preparing for a concert after about a year and practicing choreography for the first time in a long while.
Jang Yoon Jeong explained, "You may say, 'Does a 46-year-old trot singer practice choreography?' but this time we changed the set list a lot and there are songs that require dancing," adding, "For the first time in a long while I'm using my body properly."
When she arrived at the rehearsal studio, she warmly greeted the choreography team she has worked with for a long time, boasting a deep connection. She pointed to the male choreography director and said, "It's already been 23 years with this person. He's been on the same team since 'Eomeona,'" revealing he has been her partner since her debut.
She continued, "Female members get married and have children and sometimes leave and come back; they all do other work and only come together when there's a performance," adding, "It's hard to make a living from performances alone, so they just come quickly like part-timers when there's a stage. Still, going on together feels like family," expressing her affectionate feelings.
Afterward, Jang Yoon Jeong rehearsed the choreography for her debut song "Nae Aneui Neon" again and expressed special emotions. Saying it was the first time in a whopping 26 years that she practiced the song again, she said, "I remember all the choreography. It's so amazing. Looking at it, I know everything," and was surprised at how her body reacted first.
She then burst out laughing and made the scene roar with laughter, saying, "Think about how much they overworked me back then. How much they must have pushed that young girl around for me to still remember."
Meanwhile, Jang Yoon Jeong debuted in 1999 by winning the grand prize at the Riverside Song Festival with "Nae Aneui Neon," and after a long period of obscurity, she gained nationwide popularity in 2003 with "Eomeona," establishing herself as a leading trot singer. She is currently entering full-fledged stage preparations ahead of her concert.
