SEVENTEEN members Dokyeom X Seungkwan's new song 'Blue' is gaining a response from listeners around the world through vocal challenges by 'singing Go Soo' masters.
Dokyeom X Seungkwan recently posted a series of 'Blue' challenges on their official YouTube channel and social media featuring Davichi, singer Lee Mujin, Younha, and RIIZE's Sohee. With artists renowned for their outstanding vocal ability contributing, videos that reinterpret the original song in different colors are drawing attention.
First, Seungkwan sang the highlight of 'Blue' with Davichi's Lee Haeri. The two's emotive voices, as well as harmonies different from the original, captivate the ear. Dokyeom performed a mic-less 'live' with Lee Mujin and then showed a sweet duet with Davichi's Kang Minkyung.
Younha and RIIZE's Sohee presented solo versions of 'Blue' that received praise. Younha maximized the winter sentiment with her characteristic delicate emotional expression, and Sohee drew attention by interpreting the original with a unique timbre. Among fans, the 'reaction challenge' to the 'Blue' cinema version music video is spreading like a trend. More fans are sharing self-recorded videos of themselves crying while watching the work on 'self-cam.' Riding this momentum, the music video entered the YouTube 'daily popular music videos' charts in Korea, Japan and Canada (Jan. 12). The song also hit No. 1 on Bugs' real-time chart on its release day and settled at No. 3 on Korea YouTube's 'real-time trending music.'
Dokyeom X Seungkwan will perform 'Blue' starting today (the 15th) on Mnet's 'M Countdown', and on the 16th on KBS2's 'MUSIC BANK' and The Seasons - 10cm's Ssudam Ssudam, and on the 18th on SBS's 'Inkigayo'. They also delivered a live performance of the new song in the second episode of their self-produced content released the previous day (the 14th), 'Going Dokyeom X Seungkwan special: villain Ppudo', showcasing vocals worthy of their 'Mevoz' reputation.
