'You Quiz on the Block' Lim Seong-geun revealed behind-the-scenes of 'Culinary Class Wars 2'.
On the 14th episode of the tvN entertainment show You Quiz on the Block (hereafter You Quiz), Lim Seong-geun, a contestant on Culinary Class Wars 2 who is called the "om-man sauce lord" and is enjoying sensational popularity, appeared.
That day Lim Seong-geun said in response to the question, "How were you before appearing on 'Culinary Class Wars 2'?", "I was approached for season 1 as well. I had done survival program before. So I thought I should go on season 3. That would make it more complete," revealing that he declined the invitation to appear on 'Culinary Class Wars' season 1.
He added, "I watched the flow and told the production team I would go if there was a season 2. When season 2 really came, I said 'I'll go if there's a season 3' and got scolded," sharing the behind-the-scenes story of how he ended up appearing in season 2 as a White Spoon.
Yu Jae-seok marveled, "In competition shows it's hard to achieve results with foods we're familiar with, but Chef Lim broke that convention." In response Lim Seong-geun said, "I've eaten everything so it's pictured in my head, but in a way it's a double-edged sword. If I do a little better I'll get praise, but if I do worse than that I thought I'd fall into ruin."
He added, "I didn't know how the survival would go, but Hansik Daecheop 3 was a big help."
Meanwhile, Yu Jae-seok mentioned the scene in Culinary Class Wars 2 where five dishes were made in 180 minutes. Lim Seong-geun recalled the time he carried a huge beef rib and grumbled with a laugh, "I thought I was going to die. Those broadcast guys hung it on the second floor so we could have put it under there."
Lim Seong-geun, who presented many dishes but was unfortunately eliminated, said, "I'm not disappointed," but added, "There is only one regret. I should have done two more things. I wanted to do more to promote many Korean dishes overseas. I should have done two more things. That's what I regret."
Yu Jae-seok praised him, "Still, it's impressive that you made the top seven," and Lim Seong-geun joked, "There were many fine-dining chefs, but we won with rapid dining."
