Dex expressed anticipation for Single's Inferno 5.
On Jan. 14 at Hotel Naru Seoul MGallery in Mapo-gu, Seoul, a production press conference for Netflix's Single's Inferno season 5 was held. The event was attended by Kim Jaewon PD, Park Suji PD, Hong Jin Kyung, Lee Da-hee, Kyuhyun, Hanhae, and Dex.
Single's Inferno, which will be released worldwide on the 20th, is a dating reality show that unfolds on a remote island, "Jigokdo," where only those who become a couple can leave, featuring singles' honest and fiery dating. Since its first season in 2021, Single's Inferno has proven itself the undisputed leader of dating reality by sustaining global buzz, and it returns for a fifth season with even hotter singles.
That day Dex said, "I may be biased, but I appeared in season 2, and I think season 5 was more entertaining than season 2, so it feels like an all-time great season. And what's surprising is that at this point contestant types could become fixed, but where did you find these characters? It feels like they grow every time. And what I felt was that I thought they would immediately prepare season 6. It's that confident in its fun," he said.
Asked about a memorable scene, he said, "I keep talking about myself, but to compare, wasn't the pool scene when I appeared in season 2 quite a topic? Personally, I think there's a scene that surpasses that. I dare say that when you think of the Single's Inferno pool scene, you'll no longer think of Dex but rather the scene from season 5," and joked, "It's not that I passed it on; I think it was surpassed. I think people will accept it. I'll let it pass pleasantly."
In particular, when asked about his thoughts on "modern dating" that he learned about through Single's Inferno 5, he said, "I came to think that modern dating doesn't suit me. It's that proactive and forward-moving. The constant striving to seize things, I think it requires great courage," he said, drawing laughter.
