Band ONEWE demonstrates musical prowess with a winter season song.
ONEWE (Yonghun, Kanghyun, Harin, Dongmyeong, Kiuk) will release the digital single "Ferris wheel (관람차)" today (14th) at 6 p.m. on various music streaming sites.
"Ferris wheel (관람차)" is a self-composed song by member Kiuk, a band-sound-based track that blends upbeat rhythms and warm melodies. Like a Ferris wheel that ultimately returns to its original position, it depicts, in ONEWE's lyrical sensibility, the moment of coming full circle and meeting a first love again.
Next, ONEWE will present the demo album 4th Demo Album "STUDIO WE : Recording #4" on the 30th. Including the title track "Ferris wheel (관람차)", it will contain the first guide versions of ONEWE's previously released songs. ONEWE plans to convey sincere charm by capturing the song's first impression intact within an unrefined, rough texture.
Below is a Q&A with ONEWE ahead of the release of the new song "Ferris wheel (관람차)".
Q. It has been about three months since the release of your previous mini album 4th "MAZE : AD ASTRA", and you are presenting the new song "Ferris wheel (관람차)". How do you feel about releasing your first song of the new year?
Yonghun: After finishing 2025 well, I'm excited to present a new year and a new song. As the start is good, please look forward to it a lot.
Kanghyun: I'm glad that the first release of the new year can be presented as a fresh and exciting song, which should make the start of 2026 even better.
Dongmyeong: After completing activities for the mini album 4, I'm very excited to greet you with a new song like this. If "MAZE : AD ASTRA" was an album that showed our inner selves and direction a bit more deeply, I think "Ferris wheel (관람차)" is a slightly warmer, more emotion-focused song that suits the start of the new year. I'm grateful we can fill the first song of the new year with ONEWE's color, and I hope this song offers a small comfort to everyone who listens.
Q. The new song "Ferris wheel (관람차)" is also a self-composed song by Kiuk. What message did you want to convey in the song?
Kiuk: I tried to express in the song situations where seemingly fated connections keep missing each other. I put the message "hope that returns anyway, and the patience to wait" into the song. It fits the current weather well, so it would be good to listen to it as you wrap up this winter.
Q. What are the listening points of "Ferris wheel (관람차)" and what part did you focus on most in expressing the song?
Yonghun: I tried to sing with a lot of restraint so that the soft, fluffy mood of early year could be well felt.
Kiuk: In the theme part, strings and guitar take center stage, and in the pre-chorus and chorus parts there are brass and fireworks FX sounds that make the sound more powerful and attractive. And from the bridge to the final Kiuk outro seems to be the killing part.
Harin: As the drummer, the point is that I play a light rhythm while adding fills matched to tightly structured sections here and there so it doesn't sound boring.
Q. You will hold a solo concert "O! NEW E!volution Ⅴ" in February. You promised infinite expansion; is there a differentiated point that can only be felt at ONEWE's performances?
Kanghyun: Since all members participated directly in arranging, each taking charge of songs, you can look forward to arrangements that differ from the recordings and can only be encountered at the concert.
Dongmyeong: I think the biggest characteristic of ONEWE's performances is that they are always "in progress." Even the same song naturally changes and expands depending on the emotion of the day, the stage atmosphere, and the interaction with the audience. While maximizing the vitality of the band sound, we try to infuse the entire performance with our delicate emotional expression and narrative. In "O! NEW E!volution Ⅴ", we will add another change on top of the musical journey we've built so far, filling the stage with a different arrangement and sound than before. We prepared it not simply as a show to present songs, but as a time to experience a single story and flow of emotions together. Please look forward to it a lot!
Harin: Because this venue is larger than the previous one, we are preparing the stage so you can feel more in terms of arrangement than in performances we've shown so far.
Q. You've continued steady musical activity and further solidified your presence in the band scene in 2025. Do you feel the popularity of the band scene, and can you name ONEWE's strengths?
Yonghun: First, I'm thankful that there are more stages where a band can stand. I think ONEWE's strength is live performance. We always work harder to show even more impressive stages.
Kanghyun: I definitely feel the atmosphere has changed. The process of repeating performances, discussing what to improve and filling those points seems to be ONEWE's strength.
Harin: I feel the band boom. I often hear people around me say they want to learn instruments, and I hear reactions like "it's fun and enjoyable, this is the taste of a band." ONEWE's strength also shows in albums; it feels as if each member's style has come together as one.
Dongmyeong: Rather than realizing popularity yet, I'm more grateful that the number of people who wait for and continue to seek out our music is growing. It's an honor that ONEWE is mentioned as part of the flow in which the band scene as a whole is receiving attention. ONEWE's greatest strength is that all members participate deeply in song work and each person's individuality naturally blends into a single color. We value authenticity over flashiness, lasting feeling over momentary stimulation, and I feel that attitude is reflected across our music and performances. The process of gradually growing through consistency seems to have made ONEWE what we are now.
Kiuk: I was glad to be able to perform a lot in 2025, and in 2026 I want to stand on more stages. Many new fans have appeared after seeing our performances. I sincerely thank the fans who have been with ONEWE for a long time. We won't forget the infinite love. ONEWE's strengths are the lyrics, the sensitivity, and that the performances are fun haha
Q. Please give a New Year's greeting for WEVEs and tell us the goals ONEWE wants to achieve in 2026.
Yonghun: I was happy to have WEVEs by ONEWE's side in 2025 as well. In 2026, we will try to give you even greater happiness. My only goal for this year is to give WEVEs overflowing happiness!
Kanghyun: In 2026, I hope our WEVEs always have nothing but happy things. The goal for the album we will work on this year is to present it in a direction more developed in concept and detail than previous albums.
Harin: WEVEs, in 2026, the year of the red horse, I hope you all have a healthy and passionate year! As a new year begins, I want to show WEVEs and the public a musically more grown version of ourselves. Personally, I want to stay healthy throughout the year and move forward finding small pleasures!
Dongmyeong: WEVEs! Thank you for always walking by our side at the same pace. I hope 2026 becomes a year when WEVEs take better care of themselves and have more days of smiles.
