The group ILLIT added another song with over 100 million streams on the global audio and music streaming platform Spotify.
According to Spotify on the 14th, ILLIT (Yoon-ah, Min-ju, Mocha, Won-hee, Iroha)'s mini 3rd album bomb title track "Borrowed Cat (Do the Dance)" had accumulated 150,260 plays as of the 12th. It is ILLIT's fifth song to surpass 100 million streams overall.
"Borrowed Cat (Do the Dance)" is a song that captures the excitement and freshness of a first date. Its original lyrics such as "kkungsilnyaong" and "doomchitnyaong" and choreography that is delicate yet nimble like cat movements trended among the 10-to-20s generation. Released in June last year, the song has remained a fixture on domestic music charts and continued its long-running popularity.
"Borrowed Cat (Do the Dance)" also drew attention from foreign media. U.S. PopMatters selected the song among the 15 best K-pop songs of 2025 and praised it as "a track that maintains ILLIT's bright and upbeat image while opening a path for new musical experimentation."
The combined cumulative Spotify streams of songs ILLIT has released so far exceed 2.3 billion. In particular, "Magnetic" surpassed 700 million plays in the shortest period among K-pop group debut songs (about 1 year and 7 months). In addition, "Lucky Girl Syndrome", "Cherish (My Love)", and "Tick-Tack" each exceeded 100 million streams.
ILLIT is also making its presence felt in the mainstream pop market with the title track of its first single, "NOT CUTE ANYMORE." The song climbed the U.S. Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 for three consecutive weeks, settling at No. 7 (Jan. 17), putting it within sight of entering the main Hot 100 chart.
