This is a review article written after watching the broadcast.
'Radio Star' Park Geun-hyung recounted the anecdote of scolding Jeon Do-yeon and Lee Sang-yoon.
On the 14th broadcast, MBC variety show 'Radio Star' (hereafter 'Ras') featured a 'National OOO' special with Park Geun-hyung, Song Ok-sook, Choi Hyun-woo and Won-hee appearing.
That day Park Geun-hyung said there was something he wanted to explain and opened by saying, "This was quite a while ago. I once said the word 'ddong actor.' Later a junior actor said they were insulted as a ddong actor."
"When I was rehearsing theater the director said to me, 'You're a ddong actor; are you going to become an actor like that?' I said I heard about the ddong actor remark, but it was distorted to be that he said it to himself, so I was unfairly accused. I never had a chance to explain," he revealed.
Park Geun-hyung also tried to explain about the 'tiger teacher,' but it drew attention as it was reported that he had scolded Jeon Do-yeon in the past.
Park Geun-hyung, who met as father and daughter in the drama 'Until I Love You,' recalled, "Jeon Do-yeon is not an ordinary temper. At the time she acted mechanically. We were going to do it together for six months, so it was irritating. I said, 'Our language has closure. There is rhythm and it must be observed. It's inconsistent otherwise.'"
He said he scolded her to the point that others nearby tried to stop him. Park Geun-hyung said, "Jeon Do-yeon charged at me crying. She tried again on her own, got upset and cried, and did that for six months. I thought to myself, 'What an amazing kid.' Later when I saw her on TV she had done well. I thought you need that kind of persistence after all."
Park Geun-hyung said he also gave advice to Lee Sang-yoon. About Lee Sang-yoon he said, "There are many problems there too. The issue is that theater usually requires inner imagination because it's fiction, but perhaps because he studied physics he analyzes theater logically. I said, 'You have an academic problem.'"
He went on, "Because you're too smart, this isn't that; in theater the emotional truth is important. Approach it with feeling, not logic," he advised, while also saying, "I wanted to break his stubbornness by appearing in the same work."
Thus Park Geun-hyung said he broke Lee Sang-yoon's stubbornness while appearing together in the play 'Death of a Salesman.' He proudly said, "I played the rich man. While rehearsing together I shouted at him and eventually fixed him." Hearing this, You Se Yoon joked, "You washed away his academic background."
