Dealer is a crime drama in which casino dealer "Kunhwa" uses the abilities he had sealed away to protect a wedding plan thrown into crisis and plunges into a gambling scene rife with danger.
Actor Jung So-min, who has worked across various genres from romance in the film 30 Days and the dramas Hwanhon, Love Next Door, and Would You Marry Me? to comedy and fantasy, will play Jeong Kunhwa and promises a different side of herself. Ace dealer "Kunhwa," who skillfully handles casino patrons, is far from indulgent pastimes like alcohol and gambling, but after being scammed while trying to secure a newlywed home and seeing her marriage plans unravel overnight, she awakens her hidden ability and jumps into the gambling scene to set things right.
Earlier, Song Hyekyo drew attention by playing a casino dealer in the SBS drama All In, and because the character is rarely handled in domestic works, people are curious what kind of dealer Jung So-min will portray.
Ryu Seung-beom, who showed a wide range of character work in Netflix films such as Good News and the films Tazza: One Eyed Jack and Berlin, is expected to deliver another powerful presence in Dealer as Hwang Chi-soo. Director Choi Young-hwan, who has served as cinematographer on numerous works, will take the helm for Dealer. Choi Young-hwan, known for visual storytelling that maximizes genre entertainment in works such as Smuggling, Veteran, Tazza, and The Thieves, raises expectations about how he will unfold the incidents set against a glamorous casino backdrop.
In addition, the fact that First Man Studio, the production company behind the global phenomenon Squid Game Season, is participating in production further increases confidence in the project.
