'Culinary Class Wars 2' runner-up Culinary Monster (real name Lee Ha-sung) named the winner Choi Kang-rok's steamed sushi as the most impressive and the dish he most wanted to eat from season 2.
On the 14th, the Netflix Korea channel uploaded a video titled "Culinary Class Wars season 2: interview with Culinary Monster Chef Lee Ha-sung from New York."
The runner-up Culinary Monster, who is staying in New York, said about "reactions around him after season 2 aired," "People who recognize me are quite a few in New York. When I walk down the street people greet me, some ask to take photos, and friends I hadn't heard from since childhood have contacted me," he said.
"What dish from season 2 was impressive?" he was asked, and he replied, "The first is the dried pollack soup that Yoon Joo-mo made in the resurrection round. I was surprised at how he made that soup to earn such high praise. Next are the pork ribs that Yoon Joo-mo, Im Jjang, and Im Seong-keun chef made. They finished them very quickly on site in an hour. As a chef, I think it's harder to elevate familiar dishes that we commonly know. Watching someone make that first place I thought, 'Wow, that's really amazing. I want to try it.' In 'Infinite Cooking Paradise,' Chef Choi Kang-rok spent the full three hours to make steamed sushi, and I really wanted to try that too," he answered.
About the best dish he completed himself, he showed a humble attitude, saying, "The dishes I made during filming are all embarrassing to look at now."
