Ki Tae-young said that while managing his body as an actor he overworked it and developed a "nodule."
On the 14th, a video titled "Complete guide to supplements of the ultimate self-care actor couple!" was uploaded to the "Yujin VS Tae-young" channel.
Ki Tae-young said, "When dieting, you should never avoid carbohydrates entirely. You shouldn't eat them right before bed, but you should consume a moderate amount of carbohydrates before and after exercise," and added, "I really exercised for three hours every day with a huge volume. I lifted very heavy weights so my shoulders and elbows were ruined. Rather than doing it for health, I overworked my body and pushed it for muscle. I exercised to the point I couldn't breathe."
He continued, "As I got older, doing that didn't produce muscle growth like when I was younger. So for three years I kept bulking up and then cutting. I'm 15kg heavier than when I started. My face has gained a lot more fat than before," and said, "Someone like me who exercises a lot finds it difficult without taking these supplements. If I don't take them, recovery is a bit harder."
His wife Yujin said, "It felt less like exercising to become healthier and more like harming health. I felt, 'It's so hard to build muscle as you get older.'" Ki Tae-young then confessed, "I even developed a nodule. Because I used my wrists a lot, fluid burst from the joint and they said it needs surgery or to be drained. I think of it as a wound of honor."
Yujin recalled the time, saying, "Watching from the side was so pitiful, and it was hard for anyone to watch," and Ki Tae-young said, "Yujin knows well how I've done things," adding, "Every day I ate chicken breast and 30 eggs, or 15 eggs. I ate five portions of chicken breast every day for three years, and this year is the last. I'm going to switch to exercising as a hobby, stop now, and start dieting."
