EBS 'Grandma goes on a world trip to see her grandchild.' The chaotic and heartfelt travel stories of grandmothers who boldly boarded planes to meet grandchildren living abroad unfold. The first main character is national actress Seon Woo-yong-yeo (real name Jeong Yong-rye, 81), beloved by all generations.
Last week, she drew attention by staging a fiery mother-daughter battle with singer Choi Yeon-je (real name Kim Yeon-jae, 56), a 1990s youth star. Seon Woo-yong-yeo's life in the United States, from top star to real mother and real grandmother, resonated with many viewers.
Seon Woo-yong-yeo, her daughter Yeon-je, son-in-law Kevin Gordon (56), grandchild Eaton Gordon (10), and the family dog Max all gathered together. Laden with luggage as if setting off on a trip and to the beat of lively music, they headed to a mansion located in Escondido on the outskirts of southern California's San Diego. The owners of this place, Eaton's American grandparents and Seon Woo-yong-yeo's in-laws, Grandma Donna and Grandpa James, warmly welcome the family. For the first time on the broadcast, Seon Woo-yong-yeo's in-laws are revealed. Grandpa James worked in international finance and Grandma Donna worked at a well-known American hotel. What does the scene of this mansion look like, where these former American elites live a rural life surrounded by various plants and animals?
The family went to harvest oranges and avocados for lunch. Grandchild Eaton notices Seon Woo-yong-yeo, who has difficulty walking comfortably because her legs are not good, immediately runs over, supports his grandmother, and stays by her side. Under Yong-rye's direction, they harvest oranges and avocados, then return home. Eaton delivers a friendly joke to Seon Woo-yong-yeo, who orders orange juice, bringing laughter to the family.
Meeting her American grandparents disarms grandchild Eaton, who shows a playful side, and son-in-law Kevin; the reason father and son could grow up so cheerfully is partly due to the parenting views of in-laws Grandma Donna and Grandpa James. Hear the story of son-in-law Kevin's childhood mischief, which contrasts with his seemingly proper upbringing, the parenting philosophy upheld by his American in-laws, and the cozy Korean–American family sandwich party where generations and cultures blend. Broadcast on the 15th at 9:55 p.m.
