The late pop music critic Kim Young Dae's final recorded broadcast before her death was released.
On the Dec. 12 broadcast of tvN Naked World History, the late pop music critic Kim Young Dae appeared to give a lecture.
Before the broadcast, the production team displayed a caption during the opening that read, "This program was recorded on Dec. 8, 2025. We pray for the repose of the late Kim Young Dae and offer our deep condolences," expressing their mourning for the late Kim Young Dae.
The broadcast then covered "The legend of pop! The worst scandal that split the Beatles," and the person to tell the story was the late music critic Kim Young Dae.
The late critic Kim Young Dae explained, "Today's protagonists are the Beatles. They changed the course of popular culture not only in the 1960s but also in the 1980s and beyond. They are literally a legendary group that rewrote the history of popular music. Leading the Beatles were John Lennon and Paul McCartney, regarded as the most outstanding songwriting duo in the history of popular music, joined by guitarist George Harrison and drummer Ringo Starr, and all four became global cultural icons."
He then recounted the Beatles' origin story, the process by which they became legends, the various scandals that led to their breakup, and the story up to John Lennon's assassination.
He added, "I would like to evaluate the Beatles as a great band that showed that popular music can transcend pop songs and take its place as timeless classics," and said in closing, "Recently, a new Beatles song created through AI technology even won a Grammy. And the anthology project is still ongoing, with Anthology 4 newly released as a 30th anniversary edition, showing that the Beatles' myth continues to the present," concluding his lecture.
After the lecture, the production team again paid tribute, saying, "We are grateful for the late Kim Young Dae's love and passion for music that she showed until the end, and we sincerely pray for her repose."
