Comedienne Kim Hye-sun confessed that she had to live as the head of the household since childhood.
On the 13th, Kim Hye-sun and her husband Stephan appeared on the Tuesday guest segment of KBS1's Morning Yard.
In that broadcast, Kim Hye-sun cited "the girl who had to play the role of a parent" as the driving force of her life. Kim Hye-sun said, "Both my parents passed away early, and while growing up with a sibling one year younger than me, I had to enter the workforce. That was around third grade of elementary school. Because I was the older sister, I had to take responsibility, so there was nothing I hadn't tried, including newspaper delivery. At 19 I got a job at a factory and worked two jobs, even three jobs," she said.
She continued, "We had no relatives. What I was grateful for was that we received a lot of help from people around us. Because of that, both my sibling and I could grow up well. Now I have become someone who can give to others, and that felt amazing," she said.
In particular, Kim Hye-sun said, "If I had been alone it would have been hard, but I could endure because I had my sibling. I had to be responsible for my sibling, so if I thought they were going down the wrong path I scolded them strictly. My sibling is grateful but also feels wronged, and I tell them even now not to forget how hard it was then and to live helping others. I had no time for other thoughts. I realized early that I had to stay sharp," she added.
