The play "THE WASP (말벌)", which Kwon Yuri has confirmed grants for, is a two-person play about high school classmates "Heather" and "Kaala", who reunite after 20 years. It premiered in 2015 at the Hampstead Theatre in London and received favorable reviews, and this production is generating strong anticipation as the Korean premiere.
Kwon Yuri will play "Kaala", who endures harsh survival amid the storms of a life marked by the shackles of poverty, and is expected to deliver suffocating psychological suspense to audiences by portraying the character's inner fractures with delicate acting.
Last year, Kwon Yuri made a strong impression on audiences by portraying Kim Min, an employee of a special cleaning company who lost her memory due to childhood trauma, in the psychological breakdown thriller film "Intrusion", showing a darker emotional line and highly immersive acting different from her previous image, and her return to theater after a long absence since 2020's "Henri's Grandfather and I" gives this stage even more significance.
As Kwon Yuri challenges herself broadly across film, drama, variety shows and theater without regard for medium or genre, attention is focused on what form she will captivate audiences with this time.
