'Idol I' Choi Hee-jin's explosive emotional acting left a strong impression.
In the Jini TV original drama 'Idol I', Choi Hee-jin, who plays Hong Hye-joo, smoothly navigated wide emotional swings and increased immersion. 'Idol I' is a mystery courtroom romance that unfolds when star lawyer Maeng Se-na (Choi Sooyoung), a superfan, takes on the case of her favorite idol Doraik (Kim Jaeyeong). Choi Hee-jin plays Hong Hye-joo, the second daughter of a conglomerate and Doraik's ex, shaking Doraik and adding variation to the drama.
On the 7th episode of 'Idol I', which aired on the 12th, Hong Hye-joo's emotional line shook fiercely. After learning that Maeng Se-na had deceived him, Doraik terminated the retainer agreement, and Hong Hye-joo tried to stay by his side by secretly arranging a new lawyer for Doraik. But Doraik drew a line, saying, "If you receive someone's heart you have to repay it, and now I have no intention of returning my heart, so I hope this doesn't happen anymore," and Hong Hye-joo, stunned by the unexpectedly cold rejection, asked about Maeng Se-na's relationship by saying, "Do you like that woman?" but Doraik ignored Hong Hye-joo.
Hong Hye-joo also clashed with her father, Chairman Hong (Jeon Guk-hwan). When he learned that she had been entangled in Doraik's case, had been questioned by prosecutors and even had found a lawyer, he tried to send Hong Hye-joo back to the United States. In response, Hong Hye-joo said, "You were so busy hiding me and erasing my existence because you were afraid a concubine's child might cause trouble," unleashing the emotions she had suppressed. In the process, it was also revealed that she had broken up with Doraik because of her father and had no choice but to leave for the United States.
With the added conflict with her father sharpening Hong Hye-joo's narrative, Choi Hee-jin's explosive emotional acting shone even more. She raised immersion by building emotions in detail, from the wavering eyes and wounded expressions after being ignored by her ex to the scene of collapsing in front of her father as if begging. Even within restrained breaths and acting, Choi Hee-jin captured the moment when emotion burst forth, elevating the drama's emotional line one step further.
As episodes progress, Choi Hee-jin is expanding her presence as a core role that gives tension to 'Idol I'. Choi Hee-jin enhances the character's depth with delicate internal acting and intense emotional expression. Expectations are growing for the range of acting she is expanding through 'Idol I'.
Meanwhile, 'Idol I', which is continuing its upward trend, is released every Monday and Tuesday at 10 p.m. on KT Jini TV and is simulcast on ENA.<
