An Sun-young said she gave up broadcasting to care for her mother.
On the 12th broadcast of TV CHOSUN 'The charmer of Joseon', the story of An Sun-young, who has been caring for her mother battling dementia for seven years, was revealed.
An Sun-young set out in the early morning and said, "I'm going to see my eldest daughter. It takes about an hour from Seoul to the nursing home. If I follow the routine and take her there, I have to hurry."
When An Sun-young arrived at the nursing home, she appeared holding her mother's hand tightly. An Sun-young's mother reacted to seeing An Sun-young's car as if it were her first time riding in it. An Sun-young visited her regular hair salon with her mother and said she always takes her mother to familiar places.
An Sun-young said, "My child does winter sports. My son has to go to study in Canada. My son is now 10 years old. It's an age when a mother is desperately needed. I have no choice but to run two households. For a month I see my son in Canada and for a month I come back to care for my mother; it's been a year," saying she leads a busy life.
An Sun-young said, "I can't do broadcasting, being a child's mother, and being a daughter all at once. So I gave up broadcasting. Everything reached its peak in terms of my career, until last year. I am an entertainer who started with a monthly salary of 500,000 won. It took 26 years from starting in a semi-basement to building my career. Having done live broadcasts for more than 20 years, it would have been so natural that I couldn't have given up broadcasting," she explained.
