Park Narae's former manager has denied the recently released recording, while additional recordings that could support the claim of a "500 million won demand" have been released, deepening suspicions.
On the 12th, a person surnamed A, the former manager of Park Narae, issued a rebuttal to the recording released the previous day. Earlier, a recording of a phone call between Park Narae and the former manager A in the early morning of Dec. 8 last year was released on YouTube the previous day. That day was the same day Park Narae released a statement saying she "cleared up misunderstandings with her former managers," and in the recording A began sobbing as soon as she answered the phone and said, "I don't know why it came to this," and "I didn't want to go this far."
Afterward, she asked about Park Narae's pet and at times showed concern about Park Narae's health. Park Narae soothed A and suggested meeting, asking, "What are you doing tomorrow?" A said, "I was drinking in Mapo and now I'm near my sister's house," but when asked the exact location she rambled or couldn't answer. Later, Park Narae met A, had a conversation and posted a statement saying they "cleared up misunderstandings," but A rebutted, saying, "There was no substantive apology or agreement. It was just an emotional conversation."
Meanwhile, a recording that contradicted A's claims surfaced, raising allegations of the former managers' "false claims." A then released a statement on the 12th explaining the situation: "On the day of that call I was at a drinking appointment I had already made, and after the drinking ended I was told through a third party that Park Narae wanted to meet me and wanted an agreement, that she referred to me as a lover and expressed love, and that there was mention related to Bokdori. In prior calls Park Narae repeatedly used a nuance of mentioning Bokdori to make me worry about Bokdori even after my resignation, and through that she tried to continue contact with me."
She continued, "There was only one reason I met Park Narae. Park Narae told people around her that she wanted an agreement with me, and despite not feeling well I believed that and agreed to meet," while also rebutting, "During the meeting that lasted about three hours at dawn there was no discussion related to legal settlement. There was not once any mention of the contents of an agreement, the settlement amount, filing a complaint or lawsuit, withdrawal, or provisional seizure." She also rebutted the recent claim by Park Narae's side in the media that "that dawn I proposed a 500 million won settlement," saying that was not true.
In the additionally released recording, there was a passage suggesting A demanded a "500 million won" settlement from Park Narae's side, which drew attention. The YouTuber who released the recording criticized, "The point isn't that 500 million won was demanded that day, but whether there ever was an instance of demanding 500 million won. It's very cunning wording." The reason A is said to have demanded 500 million won is that it was through C, the head of a publicity agency who is also an acquaintance of A. C is someone who has had a personal relationship with A for seven or eight years, and it was A's introduction that led to C handling Park Narae's publicity work.
C was one of the people who mediated after the legal dispute between Park Narae and A arose, and consistently conveyed A's position to Park Narae. According to a call recording apparently between C and Park Narae's side on Dec. 5, C conveyed A's intent to Park Narae's side, saying, "At first the unpaid wages alone were 250 million won, and the sum of the other raised issues is 500 million won." In addition to C, a variety show writer known to both Park Narae and A also mediated and reportedly conveyed the position that "A wants 500 million won." Park Narae's side argues that they had no choice but to become aware that A was demanding 500 million won.
Separately, a new claim about the theft of Park Narae's 5.5 billion won house has also caused a stir. Earlier, the former managers said the trigger for their feeling of betrayal was suspicion that the theft at Park Narae's house last year was an inside job, and that Park Narae's ex-boyfriend had collected personal information from the managers for the purpose of preparing an employment contract and then submitted materials to the police to designate a suspect.
But according to newly released claims, the person who suspected an insider was A, who suspected the stylist and, after internal discussions, is said to have agreed to cooperate with a police investigation. The claim that personal information was taken for the purpose of preparing an employment contract was also countered with the opinion that "to pay wages as business income it is inevitable to secure a resident registration card. There is no reason to deceive these people to obtain personal information." It was also said that submitting personal information as material to designate a suspected person was a decision made with the consent of the person in question.
It is notable that Park Narae reportedly hired a lawyer at the time of the theft and entered into a strange contract to pay a success fee if the lost expensive bag was recovered. The attorney's fee for hiring the lawyer was reportedly an unreasonably high 33 million won, and the person who led the hiring of that lawyer was A. Meanwhile, the lawyer now representing A in the legal dispute with Park Narae is said to be the same lawyer who was hired in Park Narae's theft case. A reportedly promised that even if matters were settled with Park Narae through that lawyer, she would give the lawyer a 10% success fee.
