After receiving notice of termination of her exclusive contract from ADOR and being expelled from NewJeans, Danielle tearfully greeted her fans.
On the 12th at 7 p.m., NewJeans member Danielle held a live broadcast on her social account and opened up about her feelings after receiving notice of contract termination.
Seeing fans entering the live broadcast, Danielle greeted them with "Hello, Bunnies" and choked up, her eyes reddening. He expressed gratitude to fans, saying, "This moment of greeting feels somewhat unfamiliar and quietly touches my heart. Saying you waited is not enough. Bunnies stayed right there. Sometimes I read the letters and messages you send. That warmth really stays for a long time."
She added through tears, "Over the past time I learned a lot and had to protect a lot. My feelings toward family and my view of the world have changed. When I think of Bunnies, what always comes to mind first is their eyes. The moments we faced each other on stage, that feeling that the heart continued even when the music stopped, those memories quietly support who I am now."
Danielle opened up, "I didn't talk much about the past days. I traveled, listened, and learned to be still. Under unfamiliar skies I met myself again and left stories for Bunnies in my heart. I haven't shared them yet, but I hope someday you'll read the letter I write you."
Especially, Danielle emphasized, "I want to convey one thing for sure. Many of the current situations are still in the process of being sorted out. When the time comes, I will let you know what is happening with the lawsuit and everything you are curious about. And I can say this clearly: I fought to the end to be with the members. And that truth remains with me."
She said, "In my heart there is always NewJeans. Even if we are in slightly different places, to become one Bunnies with the same heart," and greeted, "Bunnies, this is not the end. This is the beginning. In the days ahead, whether music or silence, whether small moments, I want to share them honestly and beautifully. Meanwhile, NewJeans members and their agency ADOR had been in dispute over termination of exclusive contracts since 2024. The court sided with ADOR and ruled the exclusive contracts valid, but the members immediately expressed their intention to appeal. Then last November, members Haerin and Hyein expressed their respect for the court's ruling and their intention to comply with their exclusive contracts, and after discussions they decided to continue activities with ADOR. Other members also did not appeal and notified ADOR of their intention to return, bringing the exclusive contract lawsuits to a close with ADOR's victory.
In December last year ADOR said, "After candid discussions, Hanni decided to respect the court's ruling and remain with ADOR. Min-ji is also in talks with ADOR, and discussions to broaden mutual understanding are ongoing," but added, "In Danielle's case, it was judged that it would be difficult for her to be both a NewJeans member and an ADOR artist, so we notified her of termination of the exclusive contract. In addition, we plan to hold legally accountable one member of Danielle's family who bears significant responsibility for causing this dispute situation and for NewJeans' departure and delayed return, as well as former representative Min Hee-jin."
ADOR explained the reason for notifying the termination of the exclusive contract, saying, "There were acts violating the exclusive contract such as entering into contracts that conflict with the exclusive contract, engaging in independent entertainment activities, or damaging the reputation or credit of the company and NewJeans, and although we demanded corrective action, it was not carried out within the deadline, so we notified termination. We plan to file a complaint for liquidated damages and compensation against Danielle today." Subsequently, they filed a lawsuit claiming about 43.1 billion won in damages against one member of Danielle's family and former representative Min Hee-jin, and the case has been assigned to the court.
