Comedian Nikki Glazer targeted actor Leonardo S.p.A. DiCaprio's love life from the Golden Globe stage. The jab aimed at laughs, and with the subject's reaction captured, it became the ceremony's most talked-about moment.
Glazer, as host of the 83rd Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton in the United States on Jan. 12 (local time), turned to DiCaprio seated in the audience and joked, "What impresses me most is that your girlfriend achieved all of this before she turned 30," skewering his partners' age range. The 51-year-old DiCaprio is currently dating 27-year-old Italian model Vittoria Ceretti.
The camera immediately captured DiCaprio's expression. Avoiding eye contact with an awkward smile, he brushed off the moment with an awkward thumbs-up gesture, and the scene quickly spread online. Amid laughter and cheers from the audience, his reaction itself became another meme.
But Glazer quickly stepped back, saying, "That was a cheap joke." She tempered the tone, noting, "He is an actor who reveals almost nothing about his private life, so what the public knows is only his love life," and then referenced a 1990s teen media interview, adding, "Is "pasta, pasta, pasta" still your favorite food?" When DiCaprio laughed and replied, "Yes," the room erupted in laughter once more.
Ceretti did not attend the ceremony with him. DiCaprio has skipped the major awards this season and continues to be a leading contender for the film One Battle After Another. The two have quietly been seeing each other since 2023.<
