Singer BoA expressed her feelings about leaving SM Entertainment.
On the 12th BoA posted on her social media, "As much as we gave and received without reserve, I leave without regrets."
She said, "I am grateful for the time we spent together, and I will continue to cheer for the shining SM Entertainment. Thank you."
That day SM Entertainment announced the end of BoA's exclusive contract.
SM said, "After long and in-depth discussions with BoA, we have agreed to conclude our 25-year partnership effective Dec. 31."
It added, "Although the exclusive contract with our company is ending, we will cheer for BoA as she fully demonstrates her abilities in new activities and challenges and continues to shine even more as an 'Asian star.' We ask for much love and interest in BoA's newly unfolding future. We also support Kwon BoA's future beyond being an artist and sincerely wish her happiness."
BoA debuted in 2000 with her first full-length album ID;Peace B and burst onto the pop scene like a comet, releasing numerous hit songs and establishing herself as the top female solo artist representing K-pop. She marked her 25th anniversary last year.
