Amid continuing controversy surrounding comedian Park Narae, new allegations and rebuttals have emerged in succession, bringing the case into another phase. Following the "injection aunt" controversy, questions have been raised about the credibility of former manager A's disclosures, and public opinion does not seem to be easily swayed to one side.
On the 8th, The Munhwa Ilbo Company reported that Park Narae's former manager A raised the possibility that the "injection aunt"'s husband may have been involved in the process of proxy prescription and delivery of drugs. According to the report, after the controversy the "injection aunt"'s husband attempted to contact A several times, wanting to meet and talk in person, and A said they met in intermediary delivery form 5 to 7 times in places such as the broadcasting station waiting room or Park Narae's residence.
In particular, during a call A reportedly lamented, "Narae cannot be reached by phone. Contact has been cut off for two days." Accordingly, some interpret that after the controversy Park Narae has also stopped contacting the "injection aunt" side.
Meanwhile, former manager A's "power abuse disclosures" also became a new point of contention. On the same day a YouTube channel released a video titled "Park Narae KakaoTalk came out" and said there were circumstances that differed from A's claims. The YouTuber explained regarding A's claim of "not being enrolled in the four major insurances," "Upon confirmation, A's salary has been paid by Park Narae's one-person agency An Park since Oct. 2024, and A was also delegated full authority over tax processing." The YouTuber also added the claim that A chose to receive pay as business income (3.3% deduction) rather than earned income.
Questions were also raised about A's claimed experience and salary level. A claimed "more than 10 years of manager experience" and a promised monthly salary of 5 million won, but the YouTuber said, "Managerial experience that can be officially confirmed was not clear, and there were signs that advertising agency fees for Park Narae were deposited through a personal corporation in A's name."
In addition, when parts of the call recordings between Park Narae and A were released on a YouTube channel on the 9th, public sentiment was shaken again. The recording was a call made in the early morning before Park Narae said, "I met face to face with the former manager and cleared up misunderstandings," and is said to contain A emotionally pleading while worrying about Park Narae, her family and even her pet dog. The party that released the recording explained, "It appears that this roughly three-hour call was the background for Park Narae judging that the conflict had been resolved." On the other hand, A continued to claim afterward, "There was no apology or settlement," and did not change their position.
Claims on both sides also differ regarding allegations of labor exploitation and power abuse. While Park Narae's side is rebutting through messages and testimony from involved parties on issues such as salary, revenue distribution, enrollment in the four major insurances and alleged verbal abuse on set, A is maintaining the original disclosures.
As the controversy drags on, public opinion is divided. Responses include "It's hard to believe only one-sided disclosures" and "There must be a reason it went to legal action," while criticisms such as "a smear to obscure the main issue" and "just a public opinion campaign" have also appeared. Many also favor maintaining neutrality for now, saying, "Ultimately this will be decided legally."
Currently, the former manager has applied for a provisional seizure of Park Narae's single-family house in Itaewon, which was granted, and has filed a complaint on charges of special injury and defamation. Park Narae has also countersued on charges including attempted extortion and embezzlement in the course of business.<
