'Broadcaster Jung jun-ha appealed his innocence over the recent "overcharging controversy." One side said, "I thought it was a complimentary item," while the other said, "Why is that overcharging?" leading to sharply divided positions.
On the 10th, a video titled "The 32nd Jung jun-ha mockery feast 2" was posted on Lee Yongjin's YouTube channel. That day Jung jun-ha said, "I get offers to appear on other YouTube channels, but if I go out, unintended articles often come out," and revealed his cautious feelings. He added, "There were so many stories saying my business failed because of COVID that I thought I shouldn't appear anymore."
He then mentioned the recent controversial anecdote and complained, "Heo Sung-tae said things that never happened and that were ridiculous." Jung jun-ha expressed frustration, saying, "He came to my restaurant and I told him to try this and that, but he talked as if I had charged for everything."
Jung jun-ha's explanation was as follows. "When he said, 'Bro, we don't know how to order, so what should we eat?' I just recommended, 'This is our signature, try this too.' He paid for everything himself and then said I overcharged him. How would I overcharge someone?"
Earlier, Heo Sung-tae appeared on Hangout With Yoo and revealed his experience visiting the restaurant Jung jun-ha runs, fanning the flames of the controversy. Heo Sung-tae said, "He kept insisting, 'Try this too, it's delicious and a new product,' so I thought it was complimentary," and added, "But when I looked at the bill, everything was listed. I realized, ah, this isn't a complimentary item," which drew attention.
Ultimately, regarding the same situation, Heo Sung-tae said, "Of course I thought it was complimentary," while Jung jun-ha offered the differing interpretation, "I just recommended it; it wasn't overcharging," completing the "bittersweet overcharging controversy." With views that it was a harmless mishap and reactions that the situation could cause misunderstanding clashing, the person involved, Jung jun-ha, left a bitter remark, "I'm now afraid to appear again for fear another article will come out."
