"Trustworthy performer" Monsta X (MONSTA X) opened the new year with awards and performances.
Monsta X received the "Best Group" award at the 40th Golden Disc Awards (hereafter "Golden Disc") held at Taipei Dome on the 10th. As an award given to teams that have shown outstanding group activities and brilliant musical achievements through the best teamwork, Monsta X's more than 10-year journey shone even more through this recognition.
Through their agency Starship Entertainment, Monsta X said, "The Golden Disc Awards is a place full of memories for the members and Monbebe (the official fan club name), and we attended with the heart of celebrating the 40th anniversary, so it is an honor and very moving to receive the 'Best Group' award like this," and "Monsta X celebrated its 10th anniversary last year, and I think we were able to come this far thanks to Monbebe who have been with us," they said, delivering a heartfelt acceptance speech.
They added, "For this stage we wanted to convey our energy as much as possible, so we prepared with various configurations, and seeing the audience genuinely enjoying it on site gave us more strength to perform," and "Going forward, we want to continue stages that can exchange good energy not only with Monbebe but with many people. With the world tour coming soon, we will repay the support and energy we received this time with even more spectacular performances. I love you, Monbebe!"
That day Monsta X raised the ceremony's excitement to a peak with an unprecedented performance. First, Jooheon, who made his comeback with his second solo album on the 5th, premiered the title track STING (Feat. Muhammad Ali) (hereafter "STING") stage for the first time, opening the show with his characteristic intense rapping and charisma. This was followed by Shownu's graceful dance break that highlighted his lines and a unit stage that shone with the perfect chemistry of Minhyuk, Kihyun and Hyungwon, fully demonstrating the qualities befitting the "trustworthy performer" moniker.
Monsta X's commanding presence that overwhelmed the atmosphere was proven through the full-scale stage. Through the title track N the Front from last year's 10th anniversary album, they showed powerful performance and unwavering live skills, and on the pre-release song Do What I Want stage they poured out explosive energy, completing the finale of the stage amid the passionate cheers of fans who attended.
Monsta X demonstrated their irreplaceable presence once again with dazzling activity throughout 2025. With the 10th anniversary album THE X, they charted on multiple charts including the U.S. Billboard chart Billboard 200, and in November last year they released the U.S. digital single baby blue, expanding their musical spectrum with a deeper sensibility.
Their activity on the global stage was also notable. In December, Monsta X attended the largest U.S. year-end festival, the 2025 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour, starting at New York's Madison Square Garden and touring four cities, eliciting enthusiastic responses from local audiences. They also communicated with global fans through interviews with local media, and their stages were highlighted by Rolling Stone and Billboard in the U.S., proving their solid global influence.
Recently, after Jooheon launched full-fledged solo activities with the mini 2nd title track STING, Monsta X is set to begin their new world tour THE X : NEXUS starting Jan. 30. In this context, their performance at this Golden Disc Awards added to expectations for Monsta X's future activities, including the tour.
Meanwhile, Monsta X will hold THE X : NEXUS Seoul performances at KSPO DOME in Seoul from Jan. 30 to Feb. 1, opening the glamorous curtain of their new world tour.
