Comedian Park Narae halted activities amid revelations that began with allegations of power harassment toward former managers, and public opinion is shaken as a recording related to the "dawn meeting" has emerged. The recording has cast doubt on the credibility of previous disclosures, and attention has focused on whether the truth behind Park Narae's claim that she "cleared up the misunderstanding" will be revealed.
On the 9th, a YouTube channel released a video titled "Shocking exclusive! Obtained recording file of Park Narae power harassment controversy… the reality of the 500 million won settlement," which included what was presumed to be a phone call between Park Narae and former manager A.
In the released recording, A, with tears in their voice, said, "I don't know how it came to this," expressing concern for Park Narae, and showed a friendly attitude by asking about a pet's health, saying, "Did you go to the hospital because of heartworm?" When Park Narae said she smoked, A scolded her while worrying, saying, "Are you trying to have throat surgery again? Why are you smoking?" Notably, A even said, "Your mother can't sleep either, what are we going to do," conveying a nuance of concern for Park Narae's family.
The call is reported to have taken place the day before Park Narae announced on her personal social media that she had cleared up misunderstandings with the former managers with whom she was in dispute. At the time, Park Narae announced her suspension of activities on her personal social media, saying, "Two managers who were like family suddenly resigned, and until recently we were not given the opportunity to talk with the parties involved, so misunderstandings built up between us. With the help of many people, I was able to meet the former managers in person, and we were able to resolve misunderstandings and distrust between us, but I still believe everything is my fault and I deeply reflect on it."
However, the former managers said that although they did speak and meet with Park Narae, they did not reach an agreement, and their conflict ultimately led to legal action. Contrary to the managers' stance that it was not a reconciliation, the friendly atmosphere revealed in the recording caused public confusion.
Accordingly, people who rechecked the facts amid various allegations against Park Narae emerged. Previously, the former managers complained of various power harassment such as verbal abuse, special assault, and 24-hour standby, and claimed that salary and retirement pay differed from the verbal terms and that settlement payments were also unpaid.
However, regarding this, claims emerged that A's official employment history was not verified, or that it was the result of choosing business income rather than earned income, and that Park Narae's advertising agency fees were deposited into a personal corporation under A's name. A full legal dispute over these issues is expected to play out in court.
Nevertheless, questions remain unanswered about the former managers' assertion that they requested enrollment in the four major insurances starting in September last year but were not accepted; that Park Narae's mother and ex-boyfriend, who do not work for her, are enrolled in the four major insurances; that Park Narae's one-person small enterprise is not registered as a popular culture and arts planning business; and allegations of illegal medical procedures through an "injection aunt."
Meanwhile, Park Narae has not made any separate statements since her final statement via video last month. According to the police last month, there were five complaints filed against Park Narae and one complaint filed by Park Narae's side. As a full investigation begins, attention is focused on whether the case will enter a new phase.
