A family of former national team soccer player Lee Dong-gook all cried together.
Lee Dong-gook's wife, Lee Su-jin, said on the 10th, "Jan. 1, the first day of 2026. It was also the day Jaeshee and Jaea became adults. Three years ago, Jaea wrote a letter to her future adult self and put it in a time capsule and buried it in the ground."
She added, "And today, we took out that letter and read it together as a family. Dad cried, and all five siblings cried. I held the camera and recorded this moment while tears flowed."
In the video released with it, Lee Dong-gook is shown crying as he reads the letter his daughter Jaea wrote three years ago. Lee Su-jin said, "As soon as I read the first sentence, dad burst into tears. Why is Dong-guk dad crying so much? The guilt of having made Jaea endure too much," adding, "There was regret in dad's crying."
Also released was footage of Jaea herself reading the letter she wrote three years ago and crying, with the whole family crying.
Meanwhile, Lee Dong-gook married Lee Su-jin, who was the 1997 Miss Korea Hawaii, in 2005, and they have five children. Starting with the eldest twin daughters Jaeshee and Jaea, followed by twin daughters Seol-a and Su-a, and the youngest son Sian, he is the father of five.
The Lee Dong-gook family, who gained great love by sharing their daily life on KBS2's The Return of SUPERMAN in the past, are now each following their own paths. Jaeshee, after working as a model, is currently studying in the United States, and her twin sister Jaea is developing as a golf player.
