Chef Anh Sung-jae revealed the story behind his finger deformity.
On the 10th, a new video was released on the YouTube channel Chef Anh Sung-jae titled Here… paradise…? First release of Culinary Class Wars season 2 review with a temple meal made together with Monk Seonjae.
That day Anh Sung-jae went to meet Monk Seonjae, who was unfortunately eliminated from Culinary Class Wars2's top six. He expressed gratitude to Monk Seonjae for agreeing to appear, saying many people seem curious and it would be nice to hear the monk's story and cook together.
At that time Monk Seonjae asked, "But why is one of your fingers like that?" and Anh Sung-jae's middle finger shown on camera was bent.
Anh Sung-jae said, "It's not just one finger; when I was young I was playing with my older brother and my finger was cut off. They said at the hospital that because it was cut and could get infected they should remove it, but my mother didn't have it removed."
He recalled, "It was when we were in Gangwon Province, and they held it and took a taxi for three hours to go and then... I heard they performed a suturing operation."
Hearing this, Monk Seonjae expressed regret but also said, "Still, it's cool. You cook with that hand."
Meanwhile, Culinary Class Wars2 is a cooking survival show that depicts the clash between the underground masters known as "Black Spoon" chefs who aim to overturn class by taste alone and the star chefs known as "White Spoon" who try to defend it. After its release it has shown strong buzz, ranking No. 1 globally in non-English territories for two consecutive weeks.
