American lawyer and broadcaster Seo Dong-ju revealed personally why she stopped infertility treatment and her plans afterward, confessing that she aims to try egg transfer again.
Seo Dong-ju uploaded a video titled 'Ultimately rushed to the emergency room… will a baby angel come to me too?' on her YouTube channel 'Seo Dong-ju's Tto.Do.Dong' on Oct. 30 last year, revealing that she had temporarily stopped infertility treatment. At the time, she candidly described the physical burden she experienced during the treatment and the circumstances that led her to visit the emergency room.
Seo Dong-ju said, "While getting injections my abdomen swelled a lot and I became lethargic. My activity level decreased and I was constantly tired and sleepy," and "Then I had my period, but the menstrual pain was so severe that I ultimately went to the emergency room." She added, "I received an IV and painkillers and came home, and after discussing it with my husband we decided to rest for about a month," and explained, "They said it is uncommon for pain to be severe enough to require a trip to the emergency room."
She emphasized that she chose to prioritize her health, saying, "Rather than pushing too hard, I want to follow nature's flow as much as possible and continue treatment without harming my health." She added that her busy schedule was also a factor. Seo Dong-ju said with a laugh, "Work has been so busy lately. People around me say that if I cut back and rest, natural pregnancy could happen like a miracle," and "I was even told in a fortune reading that 'your work luck exploded.'"
She also explained why she decided to have a child. She confessed, "At 42, living a stable life with the person I love, I naturally thought how happy it would be to have a child who resembles that person and form a family," and "In the past I worried, 'Should I bring a child into this harsh world?' but my feelings changed after marriage." She asked for support, saying, "Even if infertility treatment doesn't go well, I will endure this time with composure."
In another video released on the 8th, Seo Dong-ju also shared her current condition and future plans. She said, "I plan to try egg transfer again around Aug. to Sept. 2026," and added, "Professionally, I am conducting investment meetings related to the brand I operate, so I expect some small results around that time."
After visiting the emergency room she stopped treatment, but as she recovers her health and prepares to take another step, netizens have reacted to Seo Dong-ju's candid confession with comments such as "health comes first above all" and "support for your courageous sharing."
