The person known for "low-speed aging," Jung Hee-won, recently addressed the personal life controversy that has erupted and gave her position directly.
On the 10th, Jung Hee-won released a video titled "This is Jung He-won. I'm sorry" on her YouTube channel and bowed her head.
In the video, Jung Hee-won said, "I sincerely apologize to everyone who felt discomfort and disappointment because of my actions," and said, "I caused concern to many people through inappropriate behavior and poor judgment, and I am deeply reflecting on that."
She went on to say it took a long time to film the video. Jung Hee-won said, "I thought anything I said would sound like an excuse. So I believed remaining silent for a while was the right thing to do," and added, "but I also clearly felt that silence cannot take the place of responsibility. Through this video, I want to clearly acknowledge and apologize for the mistakes I made."
Jung Hee-won acknowledged that boundaries in work relationships had broken down. She said, "I failed to maintain the lines that should be kept in work relationships, and I did not set clear boundaries in the relationship," and said, "Even though I recognized it was inappropriate, I could not stop immediately." The remark is effectively an admission of an affair allegation.
She added, "That poor judgment and weakness cannot be justified for any reason," and said, "When I think about the pain my family had to endure because of it, I still cannot lift my head," adding. She also blamed herself, saying, "A person who has been talking about a healthy life balance lost that balance in her own life and failed to make responsible decisions," and said, "It is right to be criticized for the gap between my words and my life."
However, she drew a line saying some claims were different from the facts. Jung Hee-won stressed, "Among A's reported claims, there are elements that are different from the facts," and emphasized, "There was no use of power to force sexual roles, and the claim that I infringed copyright is not true." She went on to explain, "The health-related content I have delivered was also not created by A, who worked with me briefly."
Meanwhile, Jung Hee-won filed a complaint on the 17th of last month accusing former researcher A of stalking and attempted extortion. In response, A has counter-sued on charges of sexual assault, claiming it was gender-based violence that occurred within a power relationship. Legal disputes between both sides are currently ongoing.<
