Actor Cho Han-gyeol spoke about what led him to appear in "Undercover Miss Hong" and his affection for the character.
The new tvN Saturday-Sunday drama "Undercover Miss Hong" (directed by Park Sun-ho / written by Moon Hyun-kyung / planned by Studio Dragon / produced by Celltrion Entertainment, Studio Dragon), which is set to premiere on the 17th, is an office comedy drama set in the late 1990s about 30-something elite securities regulator Hong Geum-bo (Park Shinhye) who goes undercover as a 20-year-old junior employee at a securities firm where suspicious funds were detected.
Cho Han-gyeol, who plays Albit Oh, a cinephile and the grandson of the chairman of Hanmin Securities who crash-lands in Yeouido with a golden parachute, said, "From the moment I first read the script, it flowed really enjoyably. The period setting of an office piece in the late 1990s felt appealing," giving his first impression of "Undercover Miss Hong." About the chemistry with the cast, he said, "I felt the rapport with all the actors was the best. Since I'm the youngest, the senior actors took good care of me, and thanks to that I was able to finish filming happily," expressing his gratitude.
Cho Han-gyeol showed his affection for the character, saying, "Albit Oh, whom I play, seems like an innocently carefree youngster, but in fact he is intelligent and delicate. He has a cool personality and an unexpected charm that lets him befriend adults without reserve, so I hope people will like him." He also explained, "There are parts similar to me and parts that are not. If I were to measure the sync rate, it's about 50 percent," arousing curiosity.
Cho Han-gyeol also asked viewers to pay attention to the "comic" elements among the many viewing points of "Undercover Miss Hong," saying, "Our drama has serious scenes, but there are many comedic elements woven throughout.
