Actor Chae Sira spent time mourning ahead of the funeral service for the late Ahn Sung-ki.
On the 8th, Chae Sira posted on her social account, "Why are so many people leaving these days... I can't help but feel so saddened," to pay tribute to Ahn Sung-ki.
Chae Sira said, "Ahn Sung-ki senior, who shared the cover of the inaugural issue of our country's first weekly film magazine. We had the opportunity to do two or three projects together, and when I occasionally met him in private, his kind expression always seemed unchanged.. I pray for the senior's repose."
Chae Sira recalled the inaugural issue for which she and Ahn Sung-ki posed as cover models, reminiscing about that time. Chae Sira said she cannot forget Ahn Sung-ki's kind smile and mourned his passing.
Meanwhile, Ahn Sung-ki died on the morning of the 5th at 9 a.m. at the age of 74. Ahn Sung-ki had been receiving intensive care after being taken to the intensive care unit in a state of cardiac arrest, but ultimately did not recover and passed away surrounded by family.
The funeral service will be held on the morning of the 9th at 8 a.m. at Myeongdong Cathedral in Jung-gu, Seoul, with a funeral mass honoring the wishes of the deceased, who was a devout Catholic. A film community funeral will be held at the same location, where film director and co-funeral committee member Bae Chang-ho and actor Jung Woosung will deliver eulogies. Jung Woosung and Lee Jung-jae will each carry the portrait and the medal, and instead of actor Lee Byung-hun, who was originally reported to participate in the funeral procession, Sul Kyung-gu, Park Cheol-min, Yoo Ji-tae, Park Hae-il, Cho Woo-jin, and Ju Jihoon will take part.
