Comedian Park Narae-related abuse of power controversy has entered a new phase. As a rebuttal emerged saying the former manager's claim of 'not being enrolled in the four major insurances' was not true, the debate over the credibility of the allegations raised so far is rekindling.
On the 8th, the YouTube channel 'Entertainment vice president Lee Jin-ho' released a video titled 'Shocking exclusive! Park Narae KakaoTalk has come out "Why the manager's anger"'. Lee Jin-ho said, "There are parts about the Park Narae-related matter that have been inaccurately reported," and began by saying, "The core of this controversy is whether there was abuse of power."
According to the video, the former manager, Mr. A, at the center of the controversy worked with Park Narae when she was with JDB Entertainment and later moved to Park Narae's one-person agency Anpark. Mr. A initially denied reporting Park Narae's abuse of power and the so-called 'injection aunt' related allegations to the media, but is said to have belatedly admitted to reporting them after surrounding testimony and materials were made public. It was explained that questions were raised about the overall credibility of Mr. A's claims in this process.
The biggest issues were salary and career. Mr. A claimed he was promised a monthly salary of 5 million won but actually received only 3 million won, but Lee Jin-ho said, "During the verification process, questions arose about Mr. A's career," and claimed, "Contrary to his self-reported 'more than 10 years manager experience,' official experience as a manager was not confirmed." Mr. A has a history of founding and running an entertainment company in the past, but it was explained that this was experience as a CEO and different from manager experience.
Regarding the most controversial claim that the four major insurances were not enrolled, another interpretation was presented. Lee Jin-ho said, "As confirmed, Mr. A's salary has been paid by Park Narae's one-person agency Anpark since October 2024, and Park Narae delegated full authority over tax matters to Mr. A."
He added, "In September 2024, the tax officer asked Mr. A whether he would receive his salary as earned income or business income, recommended earned income, but Mr. A chose business income," and said, "If business income is chosen, there is no obligation to enroll in the four major insurances. That is the tax official's explanation."
He also said, "In the verification process after the incident, a personal corporation under Mr. A's name was found to exist, and it was confirmed that Park Narae's advertising agency fee had been deposited into that corporation," and added, "The former manager's side has continuously claimed that they demanded enrollment in the four major insurances, but according to officials they never clearly stated a position on converting to earned income."
On the other hand, the former manager previously said in a media interview, "Since September last year I demanded enrollment in the four major insurances but it was not accepted," and "Park Narae herself, her mother, and her ex-boyfriend were enrolled in the four major insurances." The fact that after Park Narae established a one-person agency she did not register it as a popular culture and arts planning business and drew controversy over violating the law also added weight to the suspicions.
Meanwhile, the former manager's side recently filed for provisional seizure of real estate and has announced an intention to sue for about 100 million won in damages citing workplace harassment, special injury, proxy prescription, and unpaid progress expenses. Added to this were suspicions of embezzlement of company funds and receiving illegal medical procedures from nonmedical personnel, suggesting the controversy surrounding Park Narae may be prolonged.
Amid conflicting claims, the facts are still awaiting legal judgment. Public attention is focused on whether Park Narae will solidify as the subject of the 'abuse of power' controversy or whether some allegations will be revealed as exaggerated or distorted.
