"Actor Kwon Sang Woo and Son Tae Young spoke honestly for the first time about rumors of premarital pregnancy."
On the 8th, a video titled "True love Kwon Sang Woo exchanged for 15 billion♥Son Tae Young, first reveal only to Hong Jin Kyung!" was released on the YouTube channel Gongbu Wang Jjincheonjae Hong Jin Kyung. That day the two calmly recounted the premarital pregnancy rumors that surfaced before their wedding and their feelings at the time.
Kwon Sang Woo said, "I had the thought that I wanted to have a child soon," adding, "It could be called an accident, but we were in a situation where if a child came, we agreed to have it quickly." He continued, "One day Son Tae Young said, 'This is a big deal,' saying she was pregnant, and when I heard that I was so happy I even laughed," he recalled.
He also said, "When I told my mother about the marriage and then about the pregnancy, she said, 'I knew it would be that way,'" and shared his family's reaction at the time.
The two also explained why they did not make an official statement about the premarital pregnancy rumors at the time. Kwon Sang Woo said, "At the time it was a situation where a famous actor had no talk of marriage at a young age," adding, "Looking back now, maybe we could have said something, but at that time just being known to be dating brought a wave of malicious comments."
Son Tae Young also confessed, "If it had been reported that we were marrying because we were expecting a baby, I hated the idea that our love might look like it started because of the child," adding, "Being packaged that way was a huge stress." She added, "I hated being consumed by the term 'speeding up the wedding,' and I thought I might not be able to bear that stress."
She went on, "My husband took more criticism for saying at the time that it wasn't a pregnancy to protect me, but thanks to that I was able to get through that period," and reflected, "There was pain then, but for a while it hurt less."
The two, who married in 2008 and have one son and one daughter, currently split their time between the United States and Korea. Asked the secret to being a loving couple, Son Tae Young said, "Long distance seems to have had a big effect," adding, "When we meet after a long time it's more tender and new." She laughed and added, "From our newlywed days my husband traveled abroad frequently for shoots so our newlywed period felt the same all year round, and there was no period of stagnation."
It was a moment that showed candid confessions and consideration for each other had been the strength sustaining their long time together.<
